USER INFORMATION

SHOE CARE

Our footwear is manufactured with the utmost care using the latest technology and high-quality materials to ensure your safety and comfort.

STORAGE

Before and after use, store your footwear in a dry, well-ventilated place and keep it away from heat sources.

The recommended storage period is 3 years from the date of manufacture.

CLEANING

Remove dust and dirt with a brush.

Remove stains with a damp cloth and, if necessary, use soap.

Finally, you may apply a suitable shoe polish or care product.

USE

The CE marking on the product indicates the following:

The product complies with the essential requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council on personal protective equipment (PPE), in accordance with the applicable requirements.

  • Safety

  • Comfort

  • Resistance to abrasion

  • Additional protection against slipping

The safety footwear has been tested by a notified body in accordance with the applicable European standards.

IDENTIFICATION

The product labels on the footwear contain the following information:

EN ISO 20345:2022 / EN ISO 20347:2022 – applicable product standards.

The markings S1 / S1P / S2 / S3 / 01 / 01P / 02 / 03 indicate the applicable levels of protection.

The label also indicates SR, referring to the slip resistance of the sole, as well as the shoe size, product name, product code, CE marking and information concerning the place of manufacture.

The name and address of the manufacturer are provided below the example.

The product Declarations of Conformity can be consulted at:

Toe Cap

The toe cap provides protection against an impact energy of 200 J and compression under a load of 15,000 N, in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2022.

BASIC PENETRATION RESISTANCE

Metal Inserts (Type P)

Metal penetration-resistant inserts used in footwear must withstand a penetration force of at least 1,100 N when a nail with a diameter of 4.5 mm is applied.

Non-Metallic Inserts

Type PL: Footwear with a non-metallic penetration-resistant insert shows no penetration when a 4.5 mm nail is applied with a force of 1,100 N.

Type PS: Non-metallic penetration-resistant inserts must withstand a penetration force of at least 1,100 N when a 3 mm nail is applied.

SLIP RESISTANCE

Slip resistance means that the footwear provides slip resistance on a ceramic tile surface (E2) moistened with a diluted solution of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).

SR – Slip Resistance

SR (Slip resistance on ceramic tile + SLS and ceramic tile + glycerine):

This indicates that the footwear has achieved the required slip resistance on a ceramic tile surface (E2) moistened with sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), as well as on a ceramic tile surface (E2) using glycerine as a lubricant.

INSOLE

The footwear is supplied with a removable insole, and testing must be carried out with the insole in place.

The footwear must only be used with the insole fitted.

The insole may only be replaced with a comparable insole supplied or approved by the original footwear manufacturer.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND SAFETY INFORMATION FOR ANTISTATIC FOOTWEAR

Intended Use and Basic Principles

Antistatic footwear should be used to minimise the accumulation of electrostatic charges and to reduce the risk of ignition of flammable materials and vapours caused by sparks.

These shoes control the risk of electrostatic discharge by allowing static electricity from the body to be discharged safely towards the ground.

Limitations and Risks of Electric Shock

It is important to remember that antistatic footwear does not provide complete protection against electrical hazards.

The footwear only creates a certain level of electrical resistance between the foot and the ground.

Mains Voltage

Antistatic footwear does not provide protection against electric shocks caused by alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC).

Electrical Installations

When working on live electrical installations, electrically insulating footwear designed and approved for the applicable voltage must be used instead of antistatic footwear.

Additional Precautions

If the risk of impact or ignition caused by electrostatic discharge cannot be completely eliminated, additional protective measures and routine accident-prevention tests must be implemented in the workplace.

Antistatic protection is not provided by the footwear alone, but by the entire system, including the footwear, socks and floor.

Floor Resistance

For the footwear to provide effective protection, the resistance of the floor or ground surface must be suitable to allow the electrical charge to be discharged effectively and consistently.

Choice of Socks

It is recommended to wear antistatic socks to support the performance of the footwear.

Regular Checks

To ensure effective electrostatic discharge between the wearer and the surrounding environment — including the footwear, socks and floor — electrical resistance tests should be carried out regularly and frequently in the workplace.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND MAINTENANCE

The electrical resistance of footwear can change over time due to external factors such as stretching, contamination and moisture.

These variations can directly affect the protective performance of the footwear.

Contamination Control and Loss of Antistatic Properties

Exposure of the soles of the footwear to oil, mud, chemical waste or other contaminants can significantly reduce the antistatic properties of the footwear.

The accumulation of contaminants may prevent the effective transfer of static electrical charges to the ground, thereby increasing the risk of ignition.

Therefore, persons working in conditions where the sole material may become contaminated must check the electrical properties of the footwear before entering a hazardous area.

APPLICATIONS AND PERFORMANCE IN HUMID CONDITIONS

Shoes with Protection Class S1 – Dry Environments

Footwear in this class generally has a breathable, porous design intended to promote foot health and comfort.

This structural characteristic may cause the footwear to absorb moisture from the surrounding environment more easily.

Therefore, S1 safety footwear is more suitable for use indoors, in warehouses and in dry industrial environments.

Shoes with Protection Class S2 – Wet and Humid Environments

These models, manufactured with soles made from combinations of PU, rubber and TPU, are designed to provide high resistance to wet and humid outdoor conditions and to meet applicable occupational safety requirements.

S2 footwear made from leather and textile materials is water-repellent and resistant to water penetration due to the composition and treatment of the materials.

Thanks to this resistance, S2 footwear is a suitable choice for outdoor environments with frequent contact with water or workplaces with high humidity.
